Touchpad "Sticky" or Slow and Brightness controls?

I bought a Surface Book i5 256 discrete graphics and loved it.  Everything was great - no problems.

I decided to upgrade to the i7 256gb so I took back the i5, and that's when the issues began.  So I have a couple questions:

  1. Has anyone else noticed a problem with their touchpad being incredibly slow with two-finger scrolling?  In the Edge browser and in windows settings menus, I have to two-finger scroll upwards of 6 times to get through a single page worth of content.  This was not the case with my previous i5 model.  I am thinking this touchpad is defective.
  2. on my i5 model the brightness control in the action center rotated between "darker, dark, suggested, brighter" or something similar.  Now it is "25%, 50%, 75% and 100%."  Does anyone know why this changed when I got my new i7 model?

Thanks.

P.s. Both machines are/were updated with all released updates.

How do you change the speed of two finger scrolling?  Cursor speed doesn't change the speed of two-finger scrolling for me in Microsoft Edge and settings menus.  These are my settings options:

I should not have said "two finger speed", I should have said "two finger delay" as for me that is what controls the speed of two finger response.  I see you have yours set at "medium delay" and for me that makes a response that has too much delay.  I have mine set at "Short delay" and that gives me the response speed I want.

    1. The speed of two-finger scrolling is controlled in Settings.  You might check your current setting.  I've adjusted my trackpad two-finger scrolling speed to be just the way I like it and is very responsive.
    2. To me the change makes more sense then the previous setting.  Of course YMMV.  I think it is a lot handier to use  Fn + Del to increase brightness by 10% increments and Fn + Backspace to decrease brightness by 10% increments.

    Hi TheSponge81,

Have you tried changing the Use a two finger pinch to zoom setting to see if it helps?

Also, please make sure you have “System Firmware Update – 11/18/2015”successfully installed when you view your update history.

    Kind regards,

    Clare

Definitely a hardware issue.  Just returned and exchanged for another model and all my problems went away.
