Good afternoon. I have a surface Laptop 2 with one USB port. Accordingly, to connect it to my TV with HDMI port, I purchased a hub which had USB ports and an HDMI port from the local market. However, when I plug in the HDMI cord to the hub, laptop doesn't recognize it. I tried connecting a flash drive to the hub to test if it was working and it functioned very well. So I don't know if there is any set up I am supposed to do. Awaiting your response. Thanks

    Hi Empire8842,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble connecting your Surface Laptop 2 to your TV via HDMI.

According to the Surface Laptop 2 technical specifications, there is only one full-size USB 3.0 port. However, the USB 3.0 interface itself does not support video output, but through a USB 3.0 converter or adapter, the video signal can be converted to USB 3.0 format and then output to a monitor or other device that supports USB 3.0 input. This conversion usually requires specific hardware devices or adapters to achieve.

To do this, you may need to contact the manufacturer of the docking station you purchased to see if it supports this feature.

I hope this helps. If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Your Sincerely
