How do I know what repairs were made to my device once I get it back?

I sent my Microsoft surface laptop in for repair for a display issue with flickering, and very quickly they were done with it. Prior to sending it in Best Buy had thought that it was possible that there was a ribbon cable that came loose, hence their unavailability to help my situation. Once I got my device back from Microsoft, the only piece of information I received was a sheet of paper saying that my device went through a series of tests. But I want to know what was done to my device to repair it; there is not an easy way to find that out and I think the consumer deserves to know after paying $400+ out of pocket. Is it possible for someone to tell me other then the fact that there is a sheet of paper with checked boxes that “they ran it through a series of tests?”

    Hello Keturah Hasija,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Community. I understand how important for you to know what has been done to your device during and after the repair process.

However, I'm afraid we don't have that specific information stating what repairs were made. But as far as I know, for under warranty or out-of-warranty repairs, you are required to back up all the data on your device as it will be wiped out, then it will be replaced entirely.

    I hope this helps.
