Hello masoud,
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
This is a typical screen issue, and some customers have reported exactly the same symptoms to us.
These types of situations usually need to be considered in three ways:
- Screen brightness settings;
- The screen driver is faulty;
- The screen hardware is faulty.
If you can still see what is on the screen with the help of an external light source (e.g. a flashlight), click on the Start menu - Settings - System - Display to see the Brightness and Color option. Please turn off the automatic brightness adjustment function, and then adjust the brightness to the highest.
If changing the above Settings has no effect at all, go to step 2 and try manually downloading the driver and firmware package for the Surface Pro 8:
Download Surface Pro 8 Drivers and Firmware from Official Microsoft Download Center ****
After downloading and installing, restart your Surface and see if this can be improved. This process usually works if the cause of the problem is a driver exception.
If there is no effect, then I am afraid that there is only one possibility that the screen needs to be repaired. You can also try entering UEFI to verify this:
- Shut down your Surface and wait about 10 seconds to make sure it's off.
- Press and hold the volume-up button on your Surface, and, at the same time, press and release the power button.
- The Microsoft or Surface logo appears on your screen. Continue to hold the volume-up button. Release the button when the UEFI screen appears.
The bottom of UEFI pages is usually pure white, which can clearly distinguish the difference between good and bad, and if the screen brightness adjustment is disabled, then you should see the same situation on UEFI pages (which are not in Windows).
At this point, I suggest you turn your device over to the Surface technical support team for inspection or repair. It is recommended that you find another computer and open the Edge browser:
- Use your personal Microsoft account (not your organization account) to access the following links:
- Type The Surface Pro 8 screen is extremely dark and cannot be adjusted., press Enter, and click "Contact Support" at the bottom:
- Select Technical Support and select the device model you are currently using in Produce family, then click Confirm:
- You will see contact options for Chat support and Phone support, please contact them during business hours:
I wish you all the best.
Best Regards,
