Please see questions below. I want to know how to stop an unauthorised device from connecting to my bluetooth of my Microsoft Pro X.

I would like to stop an unauthorised device from connecting to my Bluetooth of my Microsoft Surface Pro X tablet. I have attempted to use the Wireless display adapter app to select the option to unpair a device to enable to connect to my Bluetooth only by entering in a private code, however this option does not show as available to me. Also, if I select to ‘forget’ an unauthorised device showing on my screen to impair them from my Bluetooth, does this guarantee that they not be able to connect with my tablet in the future? Thanks.

    Hi SimiSG,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you’re having trouble with your Microsoft Surface Pro X tablet’s Bluetooth connection. Unauthorized access to your Bluetooth can be a frustrating experience, but there are a few things you can do to prevent it from happening.

To stop an unauthorized device from connecting to your Microsoft Surface Pro X tablet via Bluetooth, you can try the following steps:

    1. Turn off Bluetooth on your tablet: This will prevent any device from connecting to your tablet via Bluetooth. To turn off Bluetooth, follow these steps:
      1. Select the Start button, then select Settings.
      2. Select Devices, then select Bluetooth & other devices.
      3. Toggle the switch to Off.
    2. Remove the unauthorized device from your list of paired devices: This will prevent the device from connecting to your tablet in the future. To remove a paired device, follow these steps:
      1. Select the Start button, then select Settings.
      2. Select Devices, then select Bluetooth & other devices.
      3. Under Audio, select the device you want to remove, then select Remove device.
      4. Select Yes to confirm.

If you select "Forget" for an unauthorized device, it will remove the device from the list of paired devices on your Surface Pro X. This means that the device will not be able to connect to your Surface Pro X via Bluetooth unless it is paired again. However, it is still possible for the unauthorized device to attempt to connect to your Surface Pro X in the future. Please note that forgetting a device does not guarantee that it will not be able to connect with your tablet in the future. If you want to ensure that the device cannot connect to your tablet, you should remove it from your list of paired devices.

    Kind regards,

    Lavenia
