My daughter uses a surface laptop for school. It asks for admin password to open app every time. Is there a way to disable the pin request and allow her to use it whenever she needs it?

    Hello Stephen,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I appreciate you raising this concern to us and I understand that you're experiencing an issue with your Surface.

Regarding your concern, the admin password is required to install and run applications on a device. However, you can try the following steps to see if it resolves the issue:

    1. Right-click on the Respondus Lockdown Browser app icon and select "Properties."
    2. Click on the "Compatibility" tab.
    3. Check the box that says "Run this program as an administrator."
    4. Click "Apply" and then "OK."

This should allow your daughter to use the Respondus Lockdown Browser without having to enter the admin password every time. However, please note that this may compromise the security of your device.

    Hope it helps!

    Regards,

    Rolando S.

You can assign administrator access to your daughter's account on Users in settings.
