Surface Book 2 -Can't Delete Files

Good Morning,

I have a Surface Book 2 and I cannot delete files off my laptop. I have windows 10 and everything else works fine but when I try to delete a file the computer ignores the command (i.e. me clicking the delete button, dragging the item to the recycling bin, or right-click delete). I have additionally tried seeing if the program files were locked which they weren't, and have tried going through computer configuration but no avail. Can someone please help, guide or assist me in deleting these files? It's starting to eat up my storage room. P.S. I have a Surface Pro and have NEVER had any issues with it.
