Hello,
I had a Surface Pro 4 connected to an external monitor (Dell UP2720Q) via a Surface Dock (model 1661), the Display Port of the monitor connected to the mini Display port on the Surface Dock. This worked perfectly, the monitor giving its native resolution of 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz.
I switched to a Surface Pro 9 and connected it to the Surface Dock. To my great surprise the monitor does not function properly any more. The resolution of the monitor amounts 640 x 480 at 30 Hz. The field for changing the resoltion (in Setting -> System -> Display) is greyed out, so there is noting I can do to set the resolution of the monitor to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz.
Why is the monitor not working properly via the Surface Dock with the Surface Pro 9, while it works fine with the Surface Pro 4? What do I need to do to make the monitor work properly with the Surface Pro 9? According to the specifications of the Surface Dock, it should be compatible with the Surface Pro 9.
Kind regards,
Jan Hoogendoorn.
