This is something that Surface Business Support may be able to assist with. You can Submit your service request and hopefully someone will work with your company on this. Note that Microsoft made some changes in recent device UEFI configurations where only commercial SKU's have access to certain UEFI features. Manage Surface UEFI settings - Surface | Microsoft Docs which hints that Go 3 is one of those devices. Surface Go 3 for Business is available at Buy the new Surface Go 3 for Business – Microsoft Store
How to set the surfacego3 to auto start when power is applied.
Our business use lots of SurfaceGo2 as a terminal / UI the tablet is embedded in a machine with no access to the power on switch. We set the bios /UEFI to boot when power is applied.
Now surfaceGo2 have been replaced with SurfaceGo3 there is no option to set boot on power applied in the Bios / UEFI.
It would appear that it may be possible by using UEFI Configurator to change the UEFI configuration to allow this but :
- It seems you need to have some sort of registration with Microsoft.
- This is beyond my expertise.
Can anyone help me with this matter urgently as SurfaceGo2 are becoming impossible to obtain.
- Provide me with an MSI for the surfaceGo3 which will allow the setting of the boot on power applied.
- Instructions as to apply the MSI.
- If the MSI is applied can I then image the SurfaceGo3 to obtain an image which includes the MSI change (boot on power applied) to roll out to all other SurfaceGo3's?
- If none of the above is possible and a surfaceGo3 cannot have boot on power applied and I will have to search for another solution.
Thanks for your help.
Clive
