Surface Pro X LTE Band 71 Support (T-Mobile 600Mhz)

When will Band 71 (T-Mobile 600 Mhz) LTE be enabled on the Microsoft Surface Pro X?

Band 71 is still not enabled on the Surface Pro X, per the MS spec site. I have spoken to T-Mobile Technical Support, and they cannot enable their SIM cards with the Surface Pro X.

User TnskMB is correct that band 71 is not solely a 5G band and this is also confirmed by T-Mobile’s support. My research indicates, as noted by ‘TnskMB’ that this is merely a firmware update needed to enable band 71 for the Surface Pro X. His post (12/6/2019 https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/forum/all/surface-pro-x-lte-support-for-band-71-t-mobile/0122e208-98ad-45e7-bdd0-bfcae4fbb809) is nearly 18-months old and there are still no updates. MS Support indicated that he should continue to check back for updates.

This is highly disappointing, and I would have never purchased this device had the Microsoft rep not indicated the device would be fully compatible with my carrier’s network.

Buyer beware if mobile data is important for your usage. Seek a non-MS product or prepare to be disappointed.

@Microsoft, please prove me wrong!!

    Hi ADubLSUS,

    Greetings!

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

    Not being able to use your preferred band network for your network carrier could be disappointing. I appreciate your effort in keeping track on this.
