Surface Book 2 screen brightness keys not working

When pressing the brightness buttons on the keyboard (F1 and F2) the brightness level in the top right of the screen shows up showing the brightness is increasing or decreasing but the actual brightness of the screen does not.

    When pressing the brightness buttons on the keyboard (F1 and F2) the brightness level in the top right of the screen shows up showing the brightness is increasing or decreasing but the actual brightness of the screen does not.

    Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Community. This  issue is more likely cause by a driver related, we highly suggest you to follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue:

    Method 1: Uninstall the Display Driver(make sure :

    • Open Device Manager
    • Go to Display Adapter(make sure to show all hidden devices/drivers)Right click and uninstall Intel Graphic UHD 620/ including hidden drivers if there is.
    • Restart your Surface

    **Method 2:**Run the Screen Brightness Troubleshooter :

    • click this link In the File Download Dialogue box select Open and follow the onscreen instructions.
    • The troubleshooter will run a series of automated scripts that will attempt to detect problems with the drivers and Windows settings that enable screen brightness. Once completed, the troubleshooter may or may not find an issue with brightness. Follow recommended solutions provided by the troubleshooter.

    Method 3: Updating the Drivers and Firmware.

    • To make sure you have the latest drivers and firmware please go to Download drivers and firmware for Surface and download the .msi file.
    • If there's not an .msi file that corresponds to the build of Windows 10 you have installed, select the .msi file that's closest to your build number.
    • To find out which version and build of Windows you're using, select Start > Settings  > System  > About , then look under Windows Specifications to find your operating system version and OS build number.
    • Restart the Surface Twice to apply the changes.

    Method 4: Reset your Surface

    Go to Start > Settings > Update & security > Recovery.

    Under Fresh Start, select Additional info > Get Started.

    Go to Start > Settings > Update & security > Recovery.

    Under Reset this PC, select Get Started. Follow on screen instructions.

    You will need to download and set up a recovery image on a USB drive. Send the USB recovery link to the customer and help them get started. Information on what size and type of drive is provided at the destination page.

    Just had to uninstall the graphics driver and then update it.
