Surface Travel Hub HDMI port is not working when using second monitor

Question

The Surface travel hub HDMI port is not working.

I was able to use the USB A port for both external mouse or keyboard.

I am not able to project in either of the below:

1. Extend screen
2. Duplicate screen
3. second screen only

I did plug my surface pro 7 using a lenovo travel hub and the screen projection works.

I have re-installed the drivers for the display, monitor, and usb manager adapters.

There are no outstanding updates on my Surface Pro 7 at the time of this posting.

Allow me to ask questions on your end to better isolate what is causing the issue.

May I know what is the make and model of the external monitor you used?

Have you also test other HDMI cable or test the cable with other external monitor?

What exactly will happen when trying to project the display ? A photo of the error would be more helpful.

I'll be waiting for your answers in order to provide accurate resolution.

Hi and apologies on the late response.

I am using an LG Monitor model 29UM58.

I have used a different HDMI cable as well.
