Surface Pro X - Keyboard Cover

Question

My Surface Pro X cover / keyboard is no longer functioning. I have tried several of the online methods to get it working. Including restarting the computer, resetting it to original settings, cleaning the connections and updating the Windows to the most current version.

I do not believe that I am getting power to the keyboard. What else can I do to trouble shoot the keyboard before I purchase a new one.?

Based on the troubleshooting steps you’ve already taken, it’s possible that the keyboard cover is defective and needs to be replaced. However, before purchasing a new one, you can try the following steps:

1. Try connecting the keyboard cover to a different Surface Pro X device to see if it works.
2. Make sure that the firmware and drivers for your Surface Pro X are up to date. You can check for updates in the Surface app. Open the Surface app, expand Help & support, and check if the update status is “You’re up to date” or something else. If needed, select the option to update the devices.
3. Press and hold the power button on your Surface Pro X for 30 seconds, then release it. Press and hold the volume-up button and the power button at the same time for at least 15 seconds, then release both buttons. Wait for 10 seconds, then press the power button to turn on your Surface Pro X.

If none of the steps mentioned earlier work, it is likely that the issue is a hardware problem with your Surface cover keyboard. In this case, you may need to replace the keyboard.
