Surface Pro 8, Win 11 - no keyboard working - cover NOR pad!

HI. I'm writing on behalf of my husband as he cannot access a keyboard of any kind. Surface Pro 8, windows 11. Cover keyboard isn't being recognised, now keyboard on the pad is not working either so it's completely useless.

We have spent 36 hours trawling the internet and trying absolutely everything - resets, resintall, downloading all hardware and drivers etc.

The cover driver is missing from the Device Manager (we have compared our two computers, I am also using a surface but a previous version so the keyboards don't swap across) and in spite of what seems to be the correct (from microsoft) driver download pack for this computer, the cover driver did not download at all as part of it!!!

It is hard to do other things such as type WINVER etc as there is no keypad at all. We are extremely limited now in what we can do with no way of typing anything in.

Can you isolate SURFACE TYPE COVER FILTER DEVICE driver download - not as part of a pack - and link it here please?

Honestly it is like a labrinth trying to find it and we have been unable to do so. We are going rather nuts and are on holidays so don't have local support that we can understand...not our language and no English!! We have lost two days of our holidays to this now. It's most frustrating.

    I understand the inconvenience this must be to your husband.

    So please allow me to share the download address of the driver and firmware package for Surface Pro 8 here:

    Download Surface Pro 8 Drivers and Firmware from Official Microsoft Download Center

    I'm not sure if the driver download package your husband obtained came from here

    After you have finished downloading, you will notice that this is an msi file that can be run directly when you double-click it. After installing the driver and firmware package, restart your husband's Surface Pro 8 and make sure the Typer Cover works properly.

    If Typer Cover still doesn't work on this Surface Pro 8, please refer to the instructions in "Confirm connectivity" in the support link below and try entering UEFI to confirm that Typer Cover is connected properly:

    If you find Typer Cover completely unusable in UEFI, it may be damaged and in need of repair. You and your husband may need to return to your country after your vacation and then contact your local Surface technical support team to send them the device:
