My Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 keeps going to sleep due to low battery even though the battery icon says fully charged. I had bought the laptop in January 2020 and is well within the warranty. I already have had 2 customer care calls for nearly 1 hour for the same problem but the same is not yet resolved. Please help!!!

    Hi arshinjindal,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community.

Does the device goes to sleep even while your are using the device or just when you leave it idle for a few seconds/minutes? By default, the Surface is set to go to Sleep or turn off the screen if left idle to save power.

Try first to adjust the Power & sleep settings of the device. go to Windows Settings > System > Power & sleep. Under Screen and for Sleep, change the dropdown for longer times  and observe if still the issue persist.

If the issue persist or if the screen just turn off or goes to sleep even if while you are using the device, kindly run these steps on your Surface Laptop 3:

1: Run Surface Diagnostic Toolkit and check Windows Update

    2: Update drivers and firmware

Check what is the current OS Build of your Windows version by going to Settings > System > About.

Go to Download driver and firmware for Surface, choose Surface Laptop 3 then click Download on the next page.

Choose the .msi file that matches your current OS Build and click Next.

After downloading, run and install the .msi then Restart.

3: Run System File Checker Tool in Windows 10

    Hope this helps.
