Surface Book -- black screen after Wake from Sleep

What is the state of a fix for this issue? I have had a surface book for about 6 months now and this issue seems not to be of a big priority at Microsoft.

Scenario: I work a bit on the surface book and decide to let it go to sleep by just closing it and letting it be. I come back after an hour or so, open it, and in 15% of the cases I end up with a black screen. Keyboard lid up, but zero response from the surface book.

All solutions that have been outlined until now advise a force-restart by holding the power button. I have been doing that for a long time and it's getting a tad annoying to do so -- this is *not* acceptable as a solution.

Is there any real solution available to this?

    Hi Amtrix,

If you don’t use your Surface for a few minutes, the screen turns off and your Surface goes into a power-saving state. However, a black screen shouldn't happen when you wake it from sleep.

To assist you better, please provide the following information:

    • Does the issue occur when you set all power options on both batteries, and plugged in to hibernate?
    • Aside from doing a force-restart, what other troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
    • Have you installed the latest Surface and Windows updates? If not, please click here.

    Regards.

I haven't really tried any other solutions. This seems to be some "deeper" issue within the system. It just happened again & here is the fired CRITICAL event when I force-restarted it:

It is followed by several warnings and one rather cryptic ERROR event that is standing out by not being prefixed with "Microsoft-Windows-" and also containing binary data:

My windows should also be up to date: http://i.imgur.com/yZP87hq.png

I have automatic updates on and I have been having this issue for a very long time -- possibly since owning my surface book.

I can try playing around with the power saving plan and MAYBE circumvent this error somehow. This too wouldn't be a solution, though. I have really no idea on where the problem could lie. I doubt it's hardware related, but it's also unimaginable for it to be software related if other users aren't experiencing the same issue -- I believe that Windows Defender checks the correctness of the system's file signatures.

A google search tells me that a lot of users have had problems with their surface book waking up from sleep. I have no clue if that is somehow related to my problem, though.
