When this happens, it might be due to driver issue or potential hardware failure. Please try updating first the driver in Device Manager and see if it fixes the issue:
- Open Device Manager, and locate the driver with the error.
- Right-click the device with the yellow exclamation mark and select the Update driver option.
- Choose Browse my computers for drivers, then select Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.
- Then, check all the options and follow installation prompt.
Otherwise, to determine whether this is a hardware failure or not. Check if your keyboard works in UEFI or not. See How to get to the UEFI settings on a Surface for more details.
