Hello guys

My Surface Pen jumps and skip when I'm writing and I can't write continuously on the screen while it responds fine on other devices. There is no problem with the touch screen of the system without a pen. This problem occurred spontaneously. I updated again as a insider Windows after that, but it still didn't respond. I also deleted and installed the drivers related to the touch screen and Surface Pen. I also installed the complete pack of surface book 2 drivers, but the problem was not solved.

Writing and not writing causes a dotted view on the page.

please help me

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

It seems that you are experiencing issues with the Surface Pen not working properly on your current device.

To further narrow down the problem, does the Surface Pen exhibit similar issues when using other software, such as Edge?

In the meantime, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the graphics card driver to see if the issue disappears.

To uninstall and reinstall the graphics card driver on a Surface Book 2, you can follow these steps:

    1. Uninstall the graphics card driver:
      • Press "Windows key + X" and select "Device Manager" from the menu.
      • Expand the "Display adapters" section.
      • Right-click on the graphics card driver and select "Uninstall device."
      • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation process.
    2. Reinstall the graphics card driver:
      • Visit the official website to download and install the graphics drivers.
      • Restart your Surface Book 2 to apply the changes after your installation.

Looking forward to hearing more from you.

    Best regards

    Thanks' for attention

The problem persists on other programs, including edge. Tested with other pens and the jump continues.

The graphics drivers were uninstalled and reinstalled, but there was no change

    Hi

    Thanks for your reply.

I have some additional solutions that you can try, which may further help you.

    1. Uninstall and reinstall the touchscreen driver. You can follow the steps below to do this. To uninstall and reinstall the touchscreen driver on a Surface Book 2, you can follow these steps:
      1. Press the Windows key + X on your keyboard and select "Device Manager" from the menu that appears.
      2. In the Device Manager window, locate and expand the "Human Interface Devices" category.
      3. Look for a touchscreen driver under this category (it may be named something like "HID-compliant touch screen").
      4. Right-click on the touchscreen driver and select "Uninstall device" from the context menu. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation process.
      5. After uninstalling the driver, restart your Surface Book 2.
      6. Once your device has restarted, Windows will automatically reinstall the touchscreen driver. If it doesn't, you can manually install the driver by right-clicking on the "Human Interface Devices" category in Device Manager and selecting "Scan for hardware changes."
    2. Use the SDT Surface Diagnostic Tool. To use the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit (SDT) on your Surface Book 2, you can follow these steps:

        • Select the tests you want to run based on the issues you are experiencing with your Surface Book 2, such as touchscreen issues.
        • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the diagnostic tests.
      4. Review the diagnostic results:
        • After the diagnostic tests are completed, the toolkit will provide you with a report detailing any issues found.
        • Review the results to see if any specific problems related to the touchscreen or other components are identified.
      5. Follow the recommended actions:
        • Based on the diagnostic results, the toolkit may provide you with recommended actions to resolve the issues.
        • Follow the recommended actions to address any problems detected during the diagnostic tests.
    3. Reinstall the system, as some other settings or configuration factors may be causing errors with your pen.
