My computer says Ethernet cable isn’t plugged in, but when I go to look is plugged in.

The Ethernet cable seems to be plugged into both ports just fine. I have wifi on my iPad and iPhone, however, not on my HP surface laptop go. When I go to try and turn on Wi-Fi it just says “Not Connected - you aren’t connected to any networks” and “get help”. I restarted my computer and the router multiple times and I restarted the Ethernet network adapter. I’m not sure what else I can do.

    Hello Emily,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

After fully reading everything you've posted, it doesn't seem like you're using a Microsoft Surface Laptop Go device. The Surface Laptop Go comes in three generations, but none of them has an Ethernet port:

If you are using an HP laptop model, then my most direct advice is to use another computer that is properly connected to the network, go to HP's driver download address, get the network driver for your device model, and then copy it to your HP computer via USB stick and install it manually:

After the installation is complete, restart your HP laptop and confirm if this phenomenon will improve. If you notice that your network is still experiencing problems, please do not hesitate to contact HP's technical support team:
