Surface Arc Blutooth Mouse - Middle Click

Bought the Surface Arc Bluetooth Mouse 2 weeks ago to replace my previous Arc Touch Bluetooth Mouse.

During the course of using the new mouse, I find that the middle click function on the Surface Arc Mouse requires 3 finger to make it to work.  As a draft-person using Autocad, using 3 fingers for middle click is really unproductive and difficult to use.

On the older version of the Arc Mouse, it's simply a double tap and  hold with 1 finger on the center of the scroll bar in the middle would activate the middle click function.

I would like to find out if

  1. there are an work around on this middle click function using 1 finger.  or

2.  Introduce back the double tap and hold with 1 finger function, or

3.  Allow users to customize how is best to activate the middle mouse click (with 1 finger, please)

    Hi Wes2266,

Thank you for reaching out Microsoft Community. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you.

You may configure the Surface Arc Bluetooth Mouse by installing the Mouse and Keyboard Center. The middle click button can be set as a 3-finger click functionality and right after installing the Mouse and Keyboard Center, please check if you can re-configure it. Kindly check this thread for instruction.

If this answers your question, please let our Community know by marking this post as an answer. Otherwise, don't hesitate to respond to this thread for further assistance.

    Hi Crest_Z,

Yes, I already did and followed the instructions before I wrote in.

The root issue is, it is not natural for using a mouse using 3 fingers and drag!  It is not a touch pad!  This even more applicable for draft-person needs to drag to move the screen.  The standard of dragging is using the middle click button.

As a premium mouse, does Microsoft has any workaround solution?  Please refer to the 3 points question on my original post.

    Thank you.

    Hi Wes2266,

Thank you for your reply. Sorry if I didn't answer it straightforward.

I have reviewed how things are configured with the Surface Arc Mouse and figured out that there's no work around to use just one finger to enable middle-click button with the mouse. It can only be done by  using 3 fingers (which you describe as "unproductive" using AutoCAD) after configuring it in Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center.

    Kind Regards,

    Crest_Z

    Crest_Z,

    Thanks for the reply.

So would improvements be  made or feedback be sent to the development team?

I may be wrong, this seems to be just a software update on the Mouse and Keyboard Center.

    Please advice.
