Surface Pro 2 Battery Replacement

Hi,

Is any way of replacing the batteries on the Surface Pro 2 or is it possible to buy replacement batteries from Microsoft ?

The capacity of my batteries have reduced over time, as I have had my Surface for almost 3 years now. Nevertheless, I still want to use it on a daily basis, and it would be a shame to have to stop using it due to low battery capacity.

Are there any techniques of resetting the battery, or determining what may be the reason behind reduced battery capacity ?

Thanks.

No and no. You can try three cycles of fully charging then letting the battery run down until the Surface shuts down on its own (keep movies playing or something like that) but probably this won't help much.

There are guides on the internet on how to open the Surface 2 and replace the battery but be forewarned...it is a risky (as in shattering your screen) and tedious process. At 3 years, your battery is most likely depleated. https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Microsoft+Surface+Pro+2+Teardown/18604

Thanks for the reply. Is there any place where they sell the replacement batteries ?

nope. and it isn't user replaceable. you'd probably ruin the device if you

tried. even Microsoft doesn't replace batteries, they exchange for refurbs.
