Unfortunately it does look like installing a Wacom tablet to your Surface pro causes issues to your Surface’s drivers. Although it seems to interfere with the touchscreen drivers. An old Microsoft answers thread from 2021 said that if you install a tablet the touchscreen on your surface might be disabled, which probably won’t be an issue for you seeing as your surface’s touchscreen isn’t working well anyway. On Wacom’s official site they state that some tablets won’t work on surface pro, but didn’t specify which tablets and why they won’t work.
Wacom tablets seem to be quite expensive so I wouldn’t risk so much money on something that might not work on your computer. Sorry, I wish I could be of more help.
