Surface Pro Updates - This Device Is Not A Surface Pro 4

We deploy our Surface images through SCCM, and just got a surface pro 1796.

After a clean install we noticed a missing drivers so downloaded both the MSI driver and firmware packs from here

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=55484

but when trying to install either of the files we get this error:

I've checked the MSInfo32 and the SKU says it is a Surface Pro , so I've got the right driver packs.

So why is the Surface Pro Update saying it's not a surface Pro 4 so it can't install the Surface pro update?

EDIT: Photos didnt upload correctly

You need the drivers from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=56278 - not sure why you downloaded Surface Pro 4 drivers, but the only drivers that are supported are on the link I supplied and only builds 15063 and higher are supported on these Surface's.

    Hi Barb,

I didn't download the Surface Pro 4 drivers, or at least didn't think I did, the original link I posted says it is Surface Pro drivers and firmware, and the MSI is called SurfaceProUpdate 17_100_07.

I tried installing the LTE drivers and firmware you linked but still get the same error.

Is there anything I should be looking for? Is it only the System SKU and system model that these updates check to determine what model the device is?

    Thanks in advance,

    Lewis

My bad on the link. For model 1796, the https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=55484 link is correct. What build and version of Windows do you have installed?
