'to install your app or game remove a device from your account'

A couple of days ago all my Windows Store apps would launch & then disappear.

  • So I did a reset & then: **'to install your app or game remove a device from your account'**so I can't even download any apps.
  • So I did another reset to include deleting all my files as well.

Finally I was able to set my Surface Pro 3 up again including my downloading my apps from the Windows Store till 03h00. Got a few hours sleep & tried to continue downloading the rest of my app &...'to install your app or game remove a device from your account' AGAIN!

I checked my account & I have 6 devices.

  • What is the problem?
  • Are we not entitled to 81 devices with Windows 10?

I'm stuck, not even 2 resets helps.

Please help.

so with only 3 phone listed and no computers, you still had issues? can you try signing out of the Windows Store and then signing back in?

It is 10 devices under Windows 10. I've seen something like this myself intermittently. When it happens, I go to https://account.microsoft.com/devices/store and delete/remove my SP3 and anything just named PC. it is VERY annoying.

Hi Barb, thanx for your response.

I went in to my account & noticed that there were 7 'PC's listed which I thought were just blanks. I deleted those along with my SP3. Now only my 3 windows phones are listed & did a restart of my SP3.

Now the store still says that I still need to delete devices, can't download apps & all of my store apps that I was able to download a couple of days ago launch for 3 seconds & die.

In other words, I'm back to square one & I don't even understand how I got here or there.

    Please help.

    Good morning Barb,

Powered on my SP3, still no apps launching & staying on. Checked my account & noticed the same 'to many devices notification' & not only my 3 windows phones listed but my SP3 & my desktop are back on the list of devices.

Got your email & signed out of the store to no avail. Signed out again, restarted & to my shock & relief, EVERYTHING WORKS!

So in summary, my SP3 is not defective, my files are not corrupted. It's a store, device tally and or accounts issue.

Not only is this annoying, it's really frustrating since I've spent many hours scouring the web for guidance & thanx to you thru 2 emails, problem solved.

    Regard, Wolf

I wonder if you could share the tips in that email? I'm having the exact same issue and nothing that I have done has helped.
