Hey all,

I have a Surface Pro 4. It has stopped working after a recent update. I am getting a blue screen and error code d000003b. It has been in a restart loop but now is stuck on a blue screen that gives this code. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. This is my 2nd surface pro 4 since december 2015. Unfortunately, the warranty has very recently expired

    Hi JaredWilson2,

I would recommend using the following website, starting at the section named "Solution 1 – Use Command Prompt from Windows 10 Boot Options menu" to get back into your Windows: https://windowsreport.com/windows-10-automatic-...

The Surface Diagnostic Toolkit might be able to diagnose and repair your Surface Pro 4 errors once you can get back into your Surface. You can download/find more information in regards to the tool on the following website: https://support.microsoft.com/help/4037239/surf...

If you need a copy of Windows 10, you can download this by selecting 'Download tool now' from the following website: https://microsoft.com/software-download/windows10

Please let me know how this goes.

    Hope this helps,

    Nathan

This worked! It was stuck in a rebooting loop for about an hour and someone I was able to open up internet explorer and get it working. It has been running smoothly for an hour now. Thank you!

    Hey Barb,

i thought that error code was weird as well. After seeing that blue screen the computer rebooted and continued to get the message that critical process died.  However, my pc has now been running longer than it had been for the last two months after doing the diagnostic toolkit.
