Surface Pro 4 - Only works when plugged in

Recently, while watching a video on youtube, my device suddenly shut off and would not power back on. When plugged in, it'll boot and run just fine, the battery meter says it is fully charged and I have the device fully updated. Has any had this issue or know of a way to fix it?  I tried filling out a request for microsoft's repair service, but apparently they don't accept devices with battery issues

This issue could be caused by a faulty battery or with Windows not recognizing the battery.

If still your device only works when the power supply is plugged in, we suggest that you check the article: How to get service for Surface.
