Returning glitches Outlook breaking hyperlink formatting: adding the visible text to hyperlink address, hard stops

This problem is back, except the problem isn't in Word. Outlook is now adding the visible text + coding to hyperlinks, even when they are copied and pasted from hyperlinks formatted correctly in Word.

Here is the visible text and hyperlink address in Word:

Here's what Outlook sent:

Outlook is also adding hard carriage returns to copied and pasted text with no such returns in the original formatting. These hard returns appear after hyperlinks, and cannot be deleted.

Is there a fix? This problem was previously resolved in other apps.

    Hi @Kym

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on the information you have provided, looks like when you copy a link from Word into Classic Outlook, the format is changed.

This often happens because Outlook tries to hyperlink the entire message, including the text before the URL

Here are a few settings you can set up in your Outlook:

    • Go to Outlook Options > Mail > Editor Options > AutoCorrect Options > AutoFormat tab and uncheck “Internet and network paths with hyperlinks.”
    • Choose HTML for composing emails
      User's image
    • Go to Outlook Options > Mail > Editor Options > Advanced > Pasting from other programs > Choose "Keep source formating" User's image

    I hope this information helps.

Please let me know if it works for you.
