Guys,

I tried a few times to configure Azure Site Recovery with new automation account, managed by ASR.

After click "create" button I have below error ... VM is in Sweden, replication between AZs. in the end I have automation account created in Norway region.

I've tried to use another, previously created automation account. During deployment I had below error which is not enough detail.

image What is strange. Replication works, and even I can test failover. What is wrong?

    Hi Smorczak

Azure resource names, like Automation Accounts, must be globally unique per region and per subscription. You’re trying to deploy an Automation Account with a name that already exists in norwayeast.

Replication and test failover work because the existing Automation Account is functional and configured properly for those actions.

But deployment when reconfiguring might attempt to recreate Automation account and that’s where it fails.

You can ignore that error message.
