I can not use my Micosoft 365. When I try to create a word document or to open one that I had already created it will not work. I have used thjis program since January 2025 and it worked fine. Recently when I tried to open a document an error stated thast it had stopped working. I've tried to fix it but nothing has worked.

What is the exact error message? If you see a suggestion to Repair Now, maybe you have already noticed that it often fails to work.

Instead, run an Online Repair from Windows Settings. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/repair-an-office-application-7821d4b6-7c1d-4205-aa0e-a6b40c5bb88b .

Note that an Online Repair often requires a reinstall of Office. Before you begin, make sure that you can access your account at https://account.microsoft.com/services and that Office is associated with it.

    Hi Patricia Drummond

Thank you for reaching out. I understand you're experiencing issues with Microsoft 365, particularly with Word not opening or allowing you to create documents after working fine earlier this year. I'm here to help you move closer to a resolution. To better understand the issue and provide more accurate guidance, kindly clarify the following points:

What is the exact error message you see when trying to open or create a document? A screenshot and detailed specifics would be the most helpful (You must blur or hide any personal information, please refer to image below).

    Are you using Microsoft 365 through a personal account (e.g., Outlook.com, Hotmail.com) or a work/school account?

Can you confirm whether your Microsoft 365 subscription is active?

Does this issue affect only Word, or do other Office apps (like Excel, PowerPoint, or Outlook) also have problems?

Have you already tried any troubleshooting steps, such as uninstalling then reinstalling Office?User's imageIn the meantime, based on my research, you may consider trying Repair an Office application if you haven’t already.

As a forum moderator, I’m here to help guide discussions and share insights based on Microsoft documentation and community experience. While I don’t have direct access to your device or the ability to run diagnostics myself, I’ll do my best to support you with practical steps and connect you with the right resources.

I'm looking forward to seeing your response soon.
