Hello Microsoft Team

i have a question . Microsoft have released on 01.07.2025 Exchange SE RTM . Now i want to know , need we for it "CAL and Server" licencing ? or CAL and Server licencing would be needed for Exchange SE CU1 ?

can you help me ?

thanks for answering , but i do not understand .

i want to install Exchange SE RTM on Exchange 2019 . but i am not sure , it can work with license of Exchange 2019 or should i buy new license ?

i think , it works now with license of Exchange 2019 and Exchange SE ( CU 1 ) need new license . correct ?

To clarify: If you currently have Exchange Server 2019 and are planning to upgrade to Exchange Server Subscription Edition (SE) RTM, you do not need to purchase a new license at this time. This is supported by the reference image and the article: Exchange Server Subscription Edition (SE) is now available | Microsoft Community Hub

At present, Exchange Server SE RTM does not require a new product key. It will continue to function properly following a legacy or in-place upgrade. However, please be aware that a new product key requirement will be introduced in a future cumulative update.
