How do I get rid of the text prediction box in Edge?

On some update, text prediction has started with a box and three suggestions. How does this thing go away. It gets in the way and stops other features until I press [Esc].

I've turned off Use Text Prediction, but this annoyance persists. Thanks!

    Hello Bob O'Neill,

Thank you for posting your question on Microsoft.

You can follow these steps to fix this issue if you have already turned off the Use Text Prediction settings:
Check the App or Platform Settings:

    • Look for settings like:
      • Comment Suggestions
      • Inline Autocomplete
      • Smart Compose or Smart Reply
      • These might be separate from general text prediction.

    Browser Extensions or Add-ons:

    • If you're using a browser, check if any extensions (like Grammarly, language tools, etc.) are injecting suggestions.
    • Try disabling them temporarily to see if the box disappears.

Clear Cache or Try Incognito Mode:

    • Sometimes cached data or cookies can cause persistent UI behavior.
    • Try typing in the same field in incognito mode to test if the issue persists.

    Platform-Specific Help:

    • If this is happening on a specific site (e.g., YouTube, GitHub, or a CMS), let me know which one—it might have its own toggle for this feature.
