The Authenticator App does not have the code, when I log into my app, it asks to use the app for the code...

Question

I am going in circles with this app. I need the Microsoft authenticator app to get a code to log into my account, but when I go to use the app, it asks for a code (on the app) in order to log in. So basically my app wants me to use my app to log in, but my app doesn't have the login information to use my app.... my brain hurts. Help please.
