Is it planned to allow session- or profile-based SSO deactivation in Edge for multi-tenant Microsoft 365 work?

Hi Microsoft Team,

I work at a company where all Microsoft 365 access is handled through Single Sign-On (SSO), which is essential since almost all internal tools and workflows depend on it. At the same time, I’m a consultant supporting 4–5 different clients on a daily basis — each with their own Microsoft 365 tenant.

The challenge: Due to SSO enforcement, I can't simply sign in to a different account in Microsoft Edge — it automatically redirects and logs in via my primary SSO credentials. As a result, the only workaround is to constantly switch to InPrivate mode, which is neither efficient nor scalable.

Are there any plans to introduce functionality that allows users to disable SSO selectively, either:

per Edge profile, or ideally

  • per Workspace (this would be amazing)

To be clear: I’m not looking to disable SSO globally — that would break our company setup. But being able to isolate or override SSO behavior for specific work contexts would be a major improvement for people working across multiple tenants.

Other browsers face the same issue...

Good day, thanks for your question. I am glad to assist you today. There is nothing official about this at the time being that there will be an option to disable SSO selectively in Edge although there are others who has the same thought and this will really benefit multi-tenant users. The best course of action is to cascade this either from Edge by going to the 3 dots > Help and feedback > Send feedback or via

https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/category/microsoftedgeinsider or via the Feedback Hub app and hopefully this can be implemented sooner or later.

    Regards,

    Paul R.
