    Hi Rakibe, Himanshu [TECH]

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I completely understand how frustrating it can be when default settings don’t behave as expected, especially when you're trying to create a consistent experience for your users.

To better understand your situation, could you please confirm if you're referring to the  RequestedWidth property within the DefaultSettings element in the manifest file for Excel add-ins? Or are you developing an OfficeJS plugin for a different Office application?

If you're working specifically with Excel taskpane, and you're trying to set the default width via the manifest file, it's important to note that unfortunately, the RequestedWidth setting currently not supported for task panes. This limitation is documented in the following table from Microsoft:  DefaultSettings element in the manifest file - Office Add-ins | Microsoft Learn

    undefined

I understand this can be limiting, and you're not alone, many developers have raised similar concerns, as seen in your provided Microsoft Tech Community thread. To help bring more visibility to this issue, I highly recommend submitting your feedback directly to Microsoft via the official portal: Ideas · Community

Hopefully, Microsoft will consider adding support for this in future updates. If you have any updates or further questions, feel free to come back and share!
