Can't access my account. My microsoft account was working fine, until it randomly created a password pin on its own.

I cannot log in to my account because it is saying I have to enter a PIN passcode. In the 3-4 months the account has been active I have never once been asked by Microsoft or anyone to create a PIN. I have never made a PIN. The account should not have a pin.

Yet when I try to log on, it doesn't even let it process because apparently, I have entered the wrong Pin Passcode too many times. Despite never have creating a PIN passcode, and the account not having a PIN passcode.

I do need to access my account, and Microsoft needs to fix the issue of random pins generating on their own and locking people out of their accounts. My father's Microsoft account is doing the same thing on new devices. He uses that email for his businesses as well. I'm sure this is a problem plaguing many people and this needs to be answered. Please help.

Hi, and welcome to the Microsoft Q&A community.

By now, you should be using passkeys to sign into your Microsoft account. If you have set up Windows Hello on your computer, you can use that method of authentication to sign into your Microsoft account. Can I assume you don't have Windows Hello set up with a PIN?
