Unable to use Windows Search at all

As of a few weeks ago, I have been completely unable to use Windows Search.

I've tried restarting the service manually, I've tried sfc /scannow, I've tried the Troubleshooter, I've tried rolling back to a previous update from a few months ago from when I know it was working, but nothing seems to have done anything.

When I run the Search and Indexing Troubleshooter, it sometimes recognizes an issue and restarts the service, but nothing changes no matter how many times I try.

Is this an issue with just my PC or is this more widespread?

    Hi,

It seems you're experiencing the same issue I had a few weeks ago. For me the Start menu search did not work, but the File Explorer one was working.

I noticed that my Search package had disappeared somehow.

    Try these steps and check:

    Good luck!
