How do I fix a totally messed up File Explorer in Windows 10 and keep all of my files?

Windows 10 no longer opens in the default view. Upon opening, there is no left sidebar showing folders, files, locations, etc. File Explorer opens to This PC. The tabs are File, Computer and View.

Under the bar that shows This PC (With search bar to the right) are the words 7 folders (with these folders shown: 3D Objects, Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, Videos) in the middle of the screen.

Under that it says Devices and drives showing icons and GB used for Windows C, Recovery D, and DVD RW Drive E.

If I click on the up arrow next to This PC it goes to Desktop.

I cannot access a regular default view of File Explorer through the task bar, or through the Windows System folder in the Windows Start button. Can anyone help me sort out this mess?
