Why won't screen mirroring work over 5g?

When mirroring my PC to my TV, it won't work when connected to my 5G Wi-Fi network. When connecting to the same network using the 2.4g option it works fine.

    Hi ,

In this case, I believe that screen mirroring is based on Miracast, so it is not possible to use the DFS module, which is a dynamic channel system for 5Ghz. In this case, you can try to set the channel in 5Ghz mode and test to see if you can, but you will have a great loss of speed and performance. In some cases, this would be a disadvantage. Depending on how you use the screen system, you can use a system with Moonlight and Sunshine to use GPU code and connect via LAN directly, whether WiFi or cable.

To have the best possible quality.

In this case, you have to see if you have the latest version of network drivers and video drivers, especially if it is a laptop, but I believe that the problem is with the TV and not the laptop. As explained, the problem has already been seen on LG TVs. This problem is fixed, the channel was solved, and some Roku TVs, but on Samsung TVs.

    Hi ,

I am Ivan, I will help you with this.

Well, what is the model of the TV because depending on the model you may not be able to mirror using Miracast 5GHz?

It depends on the model or TV, it does not have 5G access, but rather 2.4. If your network has the same name and automatically adjusts to the devices, this could be the explanation why you think it does not work on 5G.
