Missing IPA and Special Characters in Insert Symbol Menu

The insert symbol menu is not displaying all the expected IPA symbols and special characters. Initially, the retroflex 'ʈ' was missing, and only a limited number of IPA symbols were shown (specifically ɓ, ɔ, ɖ, ɗ, ə, ɛ, ɣ, ʃ, ʋ, and ʒ).

After changing the font in the menu to one that supports all the IPA symbols as well as Arabic, Hebrew, Devanagari, etc., closing the menu, and changing the font for the rest of the sheet, the extra symbols disappeared from the insert symbol menu upon reopening.

Attempts to revert the font back to restore the missing characters were unsuccessful, even when trying additional fonts.

What steps can be taken to resolve this issue and restore access to all required symbols?
