My desktop has been crashing randomly since a few days ago. It says the previous shutdown was unexpected in Event Viewer, and the message before says Unable to load Pluton-Windows firmware. StatusCode: STATUS_SUCCESS, Reason: Failed to apply firmware.

So this started a few days ago, and my desktop has been shutting off randomly. One day it crashed more than 10 times, today it crashed about 4 times.

Does anyone know what it could be? I am certain it is not due to the plug or overheating. I have a i5-14600 and 2080 super. I would greatly appreciate any help.

Any insights or suggestions on what could be causing this issue would be greatly appreciated. Additional information can be provided if needed.

Please check to see if your PC is producing any minidump files, I will check those to see if they provide any insight into a potential cause of the system crashes.

    Open Windows File Explorer

    Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump

Copy any minidump files onto your Desktop, then zip those up

Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive, DropBox . . . etc.), then choose to share those and get a share link

Then post the link here to the zip file, so we can take a look for you.

Sorry, I was offline, go to the support page for your PC or Motherboard on the manufacturers website, then from there, download and install the version of Chipset drivers they recommend and while there, if you do not have your drive encrypted with Bitlocker, check for any BIOS update that may need to be installed

If you have Bitlocker enabled, please do not update your BIOS, you may loose access to the data on the drive.
