Hi I Have an old Microsoft Lumia 640 phone that I keep with my bike, it has a giffgaff SIM and is there for emergencies etc. On the odd occasion I take a photo with it. I did this recently, plugged the phone into my Win 11 PC and naturally just expected the PC to open the phones memory. (Ha Ha). I then read that Win 11 doesn't 'speak' to Windows phones just IOS and Android - the best bit of self exclusion I have ever come across!! So, having a Win 10 laptop, tried the same there - with similar results. I cannot get my Win 11 laptop to 'see' my phone! What am I missing here?

All help gratefully accepted !! Regards SjH

Old Windows phones like the Lumia precede the Phone Link app in Windows.

To transfer photos from that Lumia phone, connect it to your PC via a USB cable, then open File Explorer, on the left, click 'This PC' and on the right, you should be able to see the drive in the phone to copy out the image files from the phone to your Pictures folder in the PC.

Hi Dave, thanks for that. That is what I have always done but now, on both 10 and 11, the phone doesn’t show up in ‘My PC’.
