Supposedly one can restore the old Windows 10 right-click menus in File Explorer with the addition of this Registry key.

I made the chabge but nothing has changed, even after a reboot.

Here is a screenshot from Regedit showing the new key and its properties; I think I did it right but no results.

Any ideas?

    Hello.

Launch Windows terminal. Then run this command

Restart and see if it works

    reg delete "HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}" /f

Yes, my bad. I am sorry.

The command I gave you enabled the "show more" option. I always got the enable/disable mixed up. Very sorry.

However, if you don't mind, can you still run it anyway.

Then run this command to add it back and see if it makes any difference:

    reg add "HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}\InprocServer32" /f /ve

Are you the only user on this device?

Well, this is curious. The registry modification that did not take effect after a first reboot has taken effect after a second. I made no other changes.

I have seen this happen before, though I don't recall exactly what settings. Perhaps our PCs are developing free will.
