    Hello, Simon

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community

Thank you for your feedback. I read your description of the problem and I understand the confusion this problem has caused you.

I will provide you with a detailed and professional guide to help you complete this process. First, you need to understand a core principle: in the Microsoft ecosystem, the currency and tax rate of the bill are directly tied to the "country/region" set for your account. You cannot just change the currency, but you must change the region where your account or subscription is located.

Step 1: Before you start, be sure to check and complete the following steps, otherwise you will not be able to successfully change the region:

Cancel your current Microsoft 365 subscription, which is the most critical step. Subscription services are deeply tied to the region where they were purchased. You cannot directly "transfer" a subscription purchased in the United States to another country.

Please visit your Microsoft account Services & Subscriptions page: https://account.microsoft.com/services Find your Microsoft 365 subscription and click "Manage". Select "Turn off recurring billing". You need to wait for the current subscription cycle to end. For example, if you have paid for the end of this year, you need to wait until the end of the year for the subscription to expire. Use up your account balance: If you have any gift cards or promotional balances in USD on your account, these cannot be transferred to your new country. You must use them all before changing your region.

Make sure you have a credit/debit card issued by a bank or financial institution in your new country. You will not be able to use your old US payment methods in your new region. You will also need a valid mailing address in your new country.

Step 2: Once you have completed all of the above preparations and your Microsoft 365 subscription has expired, you can start changing your account region.

Sign in to your Microsoft account: Go to https://account.microsoft.com and sign in. Go to your profile: Click "Your info" at the top of the page. On your profile page, find the "Country/Region" section and click "Edit Profile Information".

Update your address and region: In the "Country/Region" drop-down menu, select your new country. Also, update your "Province/City/Autonomous Region", "Postal Code", etc. Click "Save".

Update your billing and shipping addresses: Return to your account homepage and go to Payment & Billing > Address Book. Add a Primary Billing Address and Primary Shipping Address using your new country information.

Step 3: Once you have completed the region change, your account is now ready to spend in your new location.

Revisit https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365. The site should now display the currency and prices for your new country. Select the plan you want and complete your purchase using the payment method you have ready for your new country.

The next time you buy an app or content in the Windows Store, it will automatically display the currency and tax rates for your new region as well. To ensure that Windows itself is fully synced, you can go to Settings > Time & Language > Language & Region and check to make sure the Country or Region is set to your new location.

    Best regards
