My Wi-Fi on my laptop randomly turns off at periodic times throughout the day but it is usually when I need it the most. Specifically when having meetings or taking online tests but usually not outside of that it works mostly fine. No other devices have this issue in my household and if I switch to another device when having a meeting that device will work but mine will not so I know it is not a problem with my Wi-Fi or router, as i reset it, try it in a different location, and still does not work. How can I fix this issue.

    Dear @Sara st1,

Thank you so much for contacting Microsoft Q&A Forum.

Based on your description, it appears that you are experiencing Wi-Fi connectivity issues during high-demand scenarios such as meetings or examinations. I have thoroughly reviewed all available documentation from Microsoft regarding this specific situation; however, there is currently no official confirmation or guidance addressing it. Also, I appreciate that you tried several methods to check it, but it did not resolve. Nonetheless, I have identified a potential workaround that you may consider trying to determine whether it resolves the issue:

In this article, you can try to disable power saving for Wi-Fi adapter, please take a look: Fix Wi-Fi connection issues in Windows - Microsoft Support

Please consider reviewing and reapplying the workarounds provided in the article to ensure that no potential improvements have been overlooked.

I hope your inconvenience can be fixed soon.

    Wish you a pleasant day!

Diagnosing wi-fi connection issues is difficult because there are so many variables involved. If moving your laptop close to your router didn't help, and other wi-fi devices don't seem to have the same problem, the issue may be with the wireless network adapter in your laptop.

It's possible that updating the driver for your wireless network adapter might help, but first please answer the following diagnostic questions:

    • how long has this problem been going on? can you associate the onset of the problem with any particular event (e.g., updated software on your laptop, had a malware attack and "cleaned" the laptop, etc.)?
    • what is the make and specific model of your laptop?
    • what is the make and model of your router?
    • what are the other devices that work fine for you (for phones, give the make and model)?
