Brand New MS Surface Pro 6 - CPU Throttling Issue

Hi,

Could you advise us when this  issue will be fixed with an update or oif there is another solution. ? We are experiencing this issue on many of our Business fleet PCs.

I have read the forums, and nothing has fixed the issue so far. 

Do you have a solution?

PC is up to day for WUpdates AND latest Surface update applied.

The CPU is being tanked back down to 400Mhz.

    are we able to get a refund?  this problem has been going on for a while and make my surface pro 6 device useless when it throttles.  disconnecting and rebooting 5 times a day is killing my productivity

    I have also run into this issue with some clients. Until Microsoft fixes this issue, you might check out ThrottleStop https://www.techpowerup.com/download/techpowerup-throttlestop/ , This third party utility can disable the BD PROCHOT flag which has been suggested as the source for the throttling. I have used this with client SP 6s and had good results.

    Note, Microsoft does not endorse this workaround and you use at your own risk. Please do your own research to determine if this is a viable temporary fix for your situation.

    If you are referring to 241.1.139.0 Firmware Update I can report that this update isn't fixing this issue for me. You maybe shouldn't tell people to be capable of assembling hardware for your own operating system yourself or at least sell it at a price level that's closer to what a Pentium-II PC would cost today.

    Hi,

    I fixed this problem on my surface pro 6, I think you should try : 

    • Uninstall the latest update ( The cumulative and 1909 )
    • Your Surface still 400Mhz CPu, hold power + volume up for 20 seconds ( keep holding until your surface turn off and windows logo appears ) 
    • Release the buttons and your surface boot in to windows

    Done

    I will try to reupdate and do the same thing. I will tell you later.
