Some issues with Windows

Hi, I have 2 issues first of all.

My first one is one that has persisted for a long time, a blue screen from the "Video Memory Management Internal" error. I have tried a few of the fixes online such as

-Updating my Graphics Card Driver

-Repairing corrupted system files through command prompt

-Testing my RAM

But no luck with any of these. The blue screen mainly seems to happen after either unplugging/plugging in my power or my mouse or when I wake up the computer from sleep. I have been having these issues for around 3-4 months and have the dump files as well but not sure how to send them.

The second issue I am having is not being able to install the last windows update

Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Insider Preview (10.0.26200.5570) (KB5055632),

Error I am getting : Install error - 0x800f0831

I have tried to install this update probably at least 3-4 times and it failed everytime. Windows troubleshooter failed to identify the problem as well.

Any fixes for either of these solutions?

    Hi S.B 101,

To get a BSOD it means you are on the public release of Windows, can you open the run box and type winver , hit the enter key and post back the build only.

Insider have a GSOD which is green not blue.

KB5055632 is for DEV install of Insider so unless you have registered for Insider you shouldn't be getting that KB.

The file C:\Windows\Minidump if you upload to OneDrive and then use the share a link in your thread so we can download it.

Also if I'm asking in the wrong place also should I go somewhere else? The windows support agent told me to ask here.

    Hi,

Yes you are in the right place.

    Couple things to check

    • run DXDiag and see if there are any errors?
    • Which video drivers are installed?
    • Can you make sure the computer not overheating?
    • Have you used sfc and DISM?

Also have you deleted the download folder contents in software distribution folder?

As far as I can see the error is coming from your video drivers and DXDiag

Do you run 3rd antivirus software? as MS says with these Insider installs just use MS Defender.

Whenever I have an issue, I can't solve, I use re-install Windows keeping settings, docs, etc in the settings app/ update.

    EDIT: Potential Causes

    • Faulty or unstable GPU drivers (especially if recently updated).
    • VRAM corruption or memory allocation failures.
    • DirectX API conflicts.
    • Hardware instability (overheating, power issues, or failing GPU).
