Hello! I recently installed the latest Windows Insider dev channel build (23506.1000)and I can't find the new Windows 11 Copilot AI slidebar. It cannot be added in the settings either. I've tried with ViveTool but it doesn't work at all. Can someone help me figure out what is wrong? Thank you

    Hello! Jizhou_Wang

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

It's great to see your enthusiasm for trying out the latest features in Windows Insider builds. Regarding the Windows 11 Copilot AI slidebar that you mentioned, it's important to understand that some features in Insider builds are part of A/B port testing.

A/B port testing means that certain features are being rolled out to a specific subset of users for testing and feedback purposes. This process allows Microsoft to gather data, evaluate the feature's performance, and make improvements before potentially releasing it to a wider audience in future updates. See the push guidelines for Insider features from the bottom of the Windows Insider blog post below:

    -<Announcing Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23493 | Windows Insider Blog>

In your case, it's possible that the Windows 11 Copilot AI slidebar is currently being tested with a limited group of users, and that's why you may not see it in your build (23506.1000) at the moment. Since these features can change over time, it's also possible that it might appear in future Insider builds as they continue to iterate and refine the feature based on feedback.

It's worth noting that not all features that are tested in Insider builds will ultimately make it to the stable version of Windows for general customers outside of the Windows Insider program. Some features may be modified, removed, or even replaced based on the feedback and data collected during the testing phase.

While you might not have access to the Windows 11 Copilot AI slidebar in your current build, I recommend keeping an eye on future Insider builds to see if it becomes available to a broader audience. In the meantime, continue to explore other features and provide feedback to help shape the future of Windows.

Remember, the Insider program is all about testing and experimentation, so features can come and go during this process. Thank you for being a part of the Windows Insider community and helping to improve Windows!

    Best regards,

    Chandy |Microsoft Community Support Specialist

    Reread the Blog snippet.

You will not have Copilot if you are logged

    in with an AAD account.

You don't use an AAD log in therefore you

    still have Copilot.

    Thanks for pointing that out.

I don't see where the OP says he has an AAD account or not, and he was still on 23506 anyway. 🤷‍♂️

    Hi Jizhou_Wang,

Have you rebooted after installing 23506?

    [Windows Copilot]

The Windows Copilot Preview, which began rolling out with Build 23493, is now available to all Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel. Insiders may need to reboot to have it show up.
