After updating several machines from Windows 10 to Windows 11 users have noticed a significant degradation on Disk Random Write speed. This is quite noticeable with NVMe SSDs benchmarks, it also seems to affect SATA SSDs even if it is not as significant. See 3 samples below with 3 different devices on Windows 10 and Windows 11:

Windows 10 19043.1165 NVMe SSD SK Hynix:

Windows 11 22000.160 NVMe SSD SK Hynix:

Windows 10 19043.1165 SATA SSD ADATA SU800:

Windows 11 22000.160 SATA SSD ADATA SU800:

Windows 10 19043.1165 Samsung NVMe SSD MZVLW:

Windows 11 22000.160 Samsung NVMe SSD MZVLW:

    Hi fg2001,

As you already know I also have a significant degradation on Disk Random Write speed on the Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 1tb primary OS SSD from my previous posts concerning Windows 11. There far I upvoted/Found Helpful your New discussion post.

Hopefully and I'm sure they will find a fix for this Hiccup soon. Sorry I couldn't provide my CrystalDiskMarks here in the New discussion but I have since deleted them from my Unit.

Thank-You for Posting This Information perhaps it will help others that are facing the same Hiccup as us.

    Hi,

I just opened this because C.K. did not like the subject on the .160 thread.

Maybe more people will report the problems and get MS to come up with a fix.

It looks like just another one of the many slow down problems of Windows 11 versus windows 10. 😒

Have you tried to update the SSD with latest drivers that adapted Windows 11? Or the firmware?

If the manufacuter that does not release any of new drivers then you might report this back to Microsoft Windows Insider Team via Feedback Hub.

The drivers were all updated by Windows 11, I don't think it is a driver issue.

The problems have been already reported to MS with FBH reports.
