Yes. I have set DDG to be the start-up browser, but that doesn't seem to matter.
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I have set DuckDuckGo as my default browser on start up yet I still keeps loading the Edge browser.
I am getting really annoyed at this as it feels like an attempt to force those that pay for a product to intentionally override their selection.
How do I set the DuckDuckGo browser as my default once and for all?!

It looks like you have the same issue as I did when trying to set DuckDuckGo as the default search engine and start page:
Open a specific page or pages broken since KB4023057 / KB5003173 - Microsoft Community
This went away by itself after an update.

Are you saying that when you close down Edge completely so there are no Edge windows open, then launch Edge again, you're not taken to the DDG home page? If so, there's something wrong.
That's all this setting does; it has no effect on the New Tab Page.
That is correct Noel.
When I shut down Edge completely (no Edge windows), and open the Edge app, the Microsoft homepage is shown even though the DDG setting has been set as shown.
