Set Default Browser to DuckDuckGo

I have set DuckDuckGo as my default browser on start up yet I still keeps loading the Edge browser.

I am getting really annoyed at this as it feels like an attempt to force those that pay for a product to intentionally override their selection.

How do I set the DuckDuckGo browser as my default once and for all?!

    Hi JKay81,

If you really want DuckDuckGo as home-page and new tab, please download this extenstion.

1: New Tab Redirect - Chrome Web Store (google.com)

2:Click the blue banner on top of Chrome Web Store to allow 3rd party extensions.

3: Go to Edge://extenstions, and enable the extenstion.

4: It should go to the first launch page

    5: extension://icpgjfneehieebagbmdbhnlpiopdcmna/options.html go here

    6:

    Put Duckduckgo.com in the URL

7: Please note this is a 3rd party extension and use it with caution

Well that worked for all but a day.

Upon shutdown and reboot, the problem exists.

I don't want to use a Google Chrome extension.

The purpose of DDG is to minimise the invasion of privacy by not allowing websites such as Google to be used!
